"Fake bets
If someone doesn’t have the furniture to pay you if you won anyway, you are still required to pay for your loss.
There is no way for you to tell if anyone is willing to pay you after you win in a bet, so it doesn’t matter if they own the furniture or not - if you lose you can’t get out of paying by claiming the other person can’t pay you even if they lost."
