Hi, Internet travelers! I am a Malishwali staying in New Jersey.
Postpartum Massage was actaully practiced by Asian-Indian ladies, more often than not a village person of advanced age.

Postpartum Massage techniques were handed down by Great-Aunts
and the like, and the benefits of Postnatal
Massage were well-known for ages. These interesting healers knew about herbal treatments.
The new Mom was helped in getting back to excellent health, and this healer was known as a Malish Wali, or "Massage Guardian." The newborn and Mom both receive
a massage. The traditions go back thousands
of years, but really Indian civilization goes back
even before the time historians agree upon as the start of life
that would be recognizable to a modern person. I am known as Darika,
which means maiden.
